Catapulting Commissions Sales Talk with Anthony Garcia

Mar 18, 2020

Welcome back to another episode of the Catapulting Commissions podcast with your host, Anthony Garcia. We’re in the wake of unprecedented change. With the COVID-19 shutdowns, the only thing that’s certain is uncertainty, but in these tumultuous times, we want to be sure that our business is safe. Today’s episode revolves around the steps you can take to protect you, your family, your team, and your business.

In our context, the response to the coronavirus can be more detrimental than the virus itself. There are financial implications that can severely hinder the way some families go about their lives. However, Anthony looks at it like this--if those who have dedicated their lives to protecting the health and wellbeing of society and they’re all telling us how dangerous this virus is, you listen. It’s not about you. It’s about the people around you.

If you’re an individual contributor, there’s a good chance you’ll feel the impact of the COVID-19 response if you haven’t already. Here’s how you can protect your business:

  1. Think outside the box. How can you be engaged with potential customers while protecting yourself?

  2. Don’t allow fear to hold you back. Yes, the challenges are real, but we can’t be afraid to move to the next step.

  3. Protect yourself at all costs. Wash your hands!

Switching gears, if you’re a leader of a team, your home, or a CEO, here is how you protect them and yourself:

  1. Put people over profit. If you manage a team, tell them to protect themselves. There’s no reward worth you or your team sacrificing their health.

  2. Calm your team’s nerves. Open a constant line of communication where you can respond transparently. It’s a fluid situation--adapt accordingly.

  3. Just do the right thing. If someone doesn’t want to come into work, do the right thing. If it means you take a hit, do the right thing.
